Story
Chapter I
Akari kept the Inari gate at the top of the mountain, where travellers left masks as offerings. In nine centuries she collected every face humans ever laughed at, from court jesters to reaction images.
Chapter II
One night a strange glow rose from a ruined shrine at the foot of the mountain: six strays turning jokes into coins. She came down in disguise to see who was playing with her masks.
Chapter III
Fuku saw through the disguise at once. Instead of chasing her away, he offered her a seat by the fire. Now Akari reads every new meme the moment it gets a name, and decides which mask is worth a coin.
